Title translates to "The life of Benvenuto Cellini followed by the Treatises of Goldsmithing and Sculpture and by the Writings on Art." Cellini was an Italian goldsmith, sculptor, and author of the 16th century. His best-known works include the Cellini Salt Cellar, the sculpture of Perseus with the Head of Medusa, and his autobiography. Includes 196 illustrations. Octavo. Dark red cloth-covered boards with gilt title to spine. This is a rebinding that shows very little wear except for rubbing at top of spine. Pages are browned and there is some foxing, especially to frontispiece, title page, and first few pages. Title is underlined on title page, and there is a pencil notation on cover page. 857 pages, including index. ITALANG/082922.
