Vitruvius Britannicus established Palladian Architecture as the approved style for Britain in the 18th Century. Colen Campbell issued the first three volumes. The plates depict the great country house estates, palaces, government offices and churches..The architects were Inigo Jones, Wren, Vanbrugh et al. with Colen Campbells own New English Paladian designs. The work appeared the same year as Leoni's Palladio.
