Binding also by him, in aegean-blue cloth with silver and turquoise spine stamping, including ivy motifs; author's initials, with ivy motif, stamped in turquoise on front panel. Standard Knopf blind-debossed borzoi device on rear panel. Textblock top edge stained brick red; deckle-cut fore-edge.

Front of jacket displays a statement from Alfred A. Knopf boasting of how he wooed Davies to compile the essays, articles, and mini-homilies for the volume. Back of jacket shows a photo of Davies posing with his Count Cagliostro look.
