Mimeo snipe on verso, here under the working title "The Talk of the Town." Political activist Leopold Dilg (Cary Grant) is framed when a lumber mill burns down and a man is killed. Escaping prison, he hides out in former schoolmate (and sweetheart), Nora Shelley's (Jean Arthur) house, currently being rented to the newly arrived law professor Michael Lightcap (Ronald Coleman). Nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. Set in fictional Lochester, New England. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with light creasing. Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1963. Revised Final Draft script for an unproduced film called "Voyage Out, Voyage Home," written by Sidney Buchman, based on stories by Irwin Shaw. Buchman's film credits include "Lost Horizon" (1937), "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939), and "Cleopatra" (1963).
A story about Christine, who returns to her father in New York after a bad romance, only to flee to Switzerland, where she has more romance. Similar to Robert Parrish's film, "In the French Style" (1963), with Shaw credited as screenwriter.
Blue titled wrappers, noted as FINAL on the front wrapper, dated September 9, 1963. Title page present, dated September 9, 1963, noted as Final, with credits for screenwriter Buchman and writer Shaw. 165 leaves, with last page of text numbered 162. Mechanical duplication, with blue revision pages dated 9/30/63. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with three gold brads.
