Hill p.23. Account of an expedition sent out to establish the trade in furs in North America. Dixon, who had sailed under Cook on his third voyage, continued Cook's work along the northwest coast of America, discovering Queen Charlotte Island, Port Mulgrave, Norfolk Bay, and Dixon entrance and Archipelago while continuing down the coast and trading with the Indians. Dixon also visited Hawaii three times during the course of the voyage and made a valuable contribution in the maps. "The volume was largely written by William Beresford and dedicated to Sir Joseph Banks. The accounts of this expedition relate largely to the geography, ethnology,and natural history of the American coast from Nootka Sound northward." - Hill. 1789
