Early ownership signature on front pastedown, bookplate on rear pastedown. Tanned, a bit of light foxing. Very good. Untrimmed. First American edition, first published in London the same year. Following on his popular LIFE AND VOYAGES OF CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS, in this work Irving describes several important early voyages to the New World, including those of Ojeda, Balboa, Ponce de Leon, and others.
