Spine with four raised bands, gilt decoration and black morocco title label. Gilt and blind decorative border to boards. Marbled page edges and endpapers. Gilt arms of Glasgow to centre of both boards. Boards have tears to leather on edges and light marking. Good solid binding with no cracking to joints. Browning and water staining to the frontis and engraved title page, the book is otherwise very clean throughout. Complete with all plates. An account of the Arctic voyages of Ross, Parry and Franklin, plus the Egyptian travels of Belzoni. A popular work that went through several editions between 1826 and 1839, yet remains surprisingly scarce. SABIN 19582 (1826 1st Edition). Overall condition is Very Good.
