Wall di Josef Koudelka comprende fotografie panoramiche scattate dal 2008 al 2012 a Gerusalemme est, Hebron, Ramallah, Betlemme, e in vari insediamenti israeliani lungo il percorso della barriera che separa Israele e Palestina. Considerando che Israele chiama il Muro la "barriera di sicurezza", i palestinesi il "muro dell'apartheid" e gruppi come Human Rights Watch usano l'espressione "barriera di separazione", il muro nel progetto di Koudelka è metaforico: una fessura umana immersa nel paesaggio naturale. Il muro convoglia le relazioni tra uomo e natura e tra culture strettamente correlate. Cronologia, lessico e didascalie forniscono il contesto alle fotografie. Wall è parte di un progetto più ampio, This Place, avviato dal fotografo Frédéric Brenner che esplora Israele come luogo e metafora attraverso gli occhi di dodici fotografi di fama internazionale, invitati a guardare oltre le narrazioni politiche dominanti - non per giudicare, ma per mettere in discussione e per rivelare.
