Sobre este artículo

New York: Coward-McCann, Inc, 1953. Fireside Theatre Book Club Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo (8 1/2" x 5 3/4"), green cloth with white lettering on spine, typographic dust jacket (unclipped) with writing on suspended drapery, illustrated with a few B&W photographs by Herb Nott, archival mylar-protected dust jacket (unclipped), 126 pages. Jean Anouilh [pron.: An-ouil or A-nouil & not "anwi"] (1910 - 1987) was a prominent French playwrite and screenwriter whose work ranged from sophisticated drama to absurdist farce. He is well known for Antigone (1944)--based on Sophocles' drama--which attacked the Nazified Vichy government. One of France's most prolific and important dramatists, his themes often dealt with renouncing reality for dreams, and maintaining integrity in a world of moral compromise. VERY GOOD CONDITION: tight, bright, clean copy without any annotations, underlining, or marks in a bright, clean dj (unclipped) with edge wear (most notably at the head and foot of its spine). Previous owner's name on front pastedown.
