Sobre este artículo

New York: Simon & Schuster, 2003. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. The second book in the award-winning McMurtry's four volume "The Berrybinder Narratives." The Berrybinder's are an aristocratic English family broadening their view of the 19th century world by a tour of the American West during the 1830s. The Berrybinder party, beset by a variety of difficulties in a land where survival is often a day-to-day struggle, have made their way up the Yellowstone River into the Rocky Mountains and look to spend the winter at the trading post of Pierre Boisdeffre besieged not only by the elements but by their own friends and enemies. First edition, first printing (with complete numberline). About6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, 302 pages in light grey papercovered boards with tan bankstrip and silver lettering on spine. The painting on the front panel of the dustjacket is "Assiniboin Medicine Sign," by Karl Bodmer. Lettering on front panel and spine is in black; back panel contains five blurbs praising the first book of the series, "Sin Killer."Boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked, with no noticeable flaws or damage. The dj shows only a touch of wear at the lower corners. A collectable copy of one part of a major achievement in the latter part of McMurtry's career.

Sinopsis

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Larry McMurtry continues his epic four-novel telling of The Berrybender Narratives with a new adventure that is both a grand literary achievement and riveting entertainment as forged by a master wordsmith.... The indefatigable Tasmin Berrybender and her eccentric family trek on through the unexplored Wild West of 1830s America -- and suffer the harsh realities of the untamed wilderness, including sickness, brutal violence and death, the desertion of trusted servants, and the increasing hardships of daily life in a land where survival is never certain. Filled with larger-than-life legendary figures such as mountain men Jim Bridger and Kit Carson, vividly rendered action, irresistible good humor, and an ever-changing cast of characters that readers will treasure, The Wandering Hill proves again that Larry McMurtry still reigns as the first statesman of the Old West.
