New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1940. First U.S. edition and first printing. Hardcover. 68 pages. An essay by Mann condemning Germany and Hitler and the war they were waging against Europe. Translated from the German by Eric Sutton. A very good plus copy in black cloth boards with a small spot to the fore edge and in a very good plus price clipped dust jacket with some slight sunning to the spine and some other minor wear. Still, a pleasing copy of this slim book from the winner of the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature.
