Remnants of one of three string ties closing the portfolio. Owner signature on inside front cover of portfolio (“Hugh McLellan, May 15, 1896”) A portfolio of architectural drawing exercises and examples which accompanied Ware’s pioneering architectural text: Modern Perspective: A Treatise Upon the Principles and Practice of Plane and Cylindrical Perspective. Ware was a practising architect and professor of architecture, and helped found Columbia University’s School of Architecture. We believe previous owner Hugh McLellan was a student of Ware’s at Columbia and went on to combine a career in architecture with a sideline in fine press printing at Moorsfield Press in Champlain, New York. ; Oblong 4to 11" - 13" tall .
