It tells the story of a young Jewish boy and his beautiful, acerbic aunt, who manage to stay one step ahead of both the Nazis and their equally vicious, anti-semitic fellow Poles, by posing as Catholics and using other cunning fabrications to avoid being shipped off to the death camps.
