Author's novel arising from his screenplay, "On the Waterfront,'' which he had written for the award-winning 1954 film of the same name starring Marlon Brando. 320 pp. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1955, this hardcover octavo has cream-colored buckram-covered boards with alternating black/brown embossed lettering to spine. Condition is VG+, marred only by foxing & other discoloration to exterior. Interior is completely clean, pages modestly tanned, especially around edges, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. NO writing, highlighting, or underlining, NOT ex-lib. The unclipped DJ (with orig. $3.95 price intact on front flap, 9/55 at lower flap) is VG-, downgraded due to same darkening/discoloration/foxing & slight paper loss to head of spine.
