Illustrated wraps. 239 pp. With a graphic black and white photo at the front depicting the lynching of two young African American men. A book length petition that was submitted to the United Nations documenting lynchings, brutality and discrimination in the US, highlighting government complicity and inaction. Written and submitted by the Civil Rights Congress. The Civil Rights Congress formed in 1946, using litigation and demonstrations to push for civil rights, and focusing on cases involving African Americans sentenced to death to highlight racial injustice in the US. GOOD condition. Moderate dampstaining to the lower third of the book, affecting covers and interior pages. Some dark scuffs to the covers, with some soiling and staining. Moderate creasing and wear along the edges. First half of the text block rather toned.
