Straight, tight and clean with no markings, slight spine-end and corner wear, slightly loose binding at bottom of first few pages, evidence of whiteout below signature barely visible on white background, tiny stamp from Adler's Book Shop in Fairbanks Alaska to rear endpaper. The thrilling, true story of the Helmericks' voyage in a homemade canoe paddling into the Brooks Range in Alaska, building their own cabin, and living off the land for several years. Illustrated throughout with 15 pages of black-&-white plates, drawings, and maps. Illustrated endpapers.
