G. & C. Merriam Co., Publishers, 1923. Hardcover. Good. Large quarto hardbound. This dictionary has been beautifully rebound with lovely light brown leather over the boards. Raised bands on the spine. Front board has a couple of areas of discoloration and two horizontal scrapes in the middle. Scraping to outside edge of boards with a few scratches. This leather is really beautiful. The bands at top and bottom of the spine are worn (probably the reason for the rebinding). Paste downs and free papers are reminiscent of the old style of marbled paper. The pages have stains, and are moisture rippled. Tissue guard between frontispiece and title page is present, but crimped and stained. This is a beautiful dictionary, plenty of colorful photos and such. Wearing to lower corners of page block. Some foxing. Please reach out to us for photos and we'll be happy to send some. 2,690 pp. HEAVY and will require additional postage.
