The author's debut, a paranormal/occult/ Fortean classic that inspired various state-specific Weird ___ guides, a sort of travel guide to anomalous phenomena and weird happenings in the US. The author himself has become something of a mystery. His past association with the mysterious James Shelby Downard, his examination of the Greek goat god Pan in the American mythos, and his far-right politics became prominent in the TV show Hellier and Kentucky anomaly-themed podcast Pennyroyal.
