London: Collins Clear-Type Press 638 pp, 16mo (6 1/8" H), thin burgundy leather over card covers/spine - gold lettering and decoration on spine, top edge gilt - in slipcase. Burgundy endpapers, sepiatone plates, including frontispiece, decorated title page. Set in the times of Elizabeth I, and loosely based on the adventures of the privateer, Amyas Preston (here renamed Amyas Leigh), the novel follows the privateers' adventures along the coast of Venezuela in search of gold and their return to England at the time of the Spanish Armada. Very light browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block, light toning to pages, very minor edge wear. Slipcase has light to moderate edge wear, crease along top panel, separation at top/bottom rear edges and partially on one bottom side edge, light rubbing/tiny scuffs to panels.. Full-Leather. Very Good+. Illus. by G.C. Hindley..
