Sobre este artículo
Washington, D.C.: U. S. War Department, Corps of Engineers, 1874. Original stereoview: albumen prints mounted on printed card stock. The image is one of fifty that were published for the Geographical Explorations and Surveys West of the 100th Meridian, led by Lieutenant George M. Wheeler in 1871, 1872, 1873, and 1874. O'Sullivan was the official photographer for the 1874 expedition, and this stereoview depicts him and his camera in the ruins on the north bank of the San Juan River. The albumen prints are in excellent condition with good contrast, and the mount has only a hint of edgewear. On the back of the mount is the stamp of Robert N. Dennis, who was one of the most important stereoview collectors in the U. S. The New York Public Library's "Robert N. Dennis Collection" includes more than 70,000 stereoviews from his collection, many of which can be viewed on the library's website.. First Edition. Paper. Very Good+. Illus. by Timothy H. O'Sullivan. 2 7/8" X 6 3/4". Photo.
