Inscribed by Richards to the front free endpaper, below which is the ink inscription 'author's copy, not to be taken from the home'.To the head of the title page is a presentation inscription from Richards's publisher: 'To the author with the compliments of Estes & Lauriat'.Illustrated with a frontispiece and eleven further plates. Collated, complete.First published in 1893, and scarce in all edition.In this charming volume, the author reminisces on her childhood and early family life. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Boards bright. Back strip age toned, with rubbing to back strip tail, and a minor loss of cloth to the back strip head. Hinges strained, and reinforced with tape. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, binding lightly strained. Tape repair to gutter between pages 32 and 33. Inscription to title page head. Pages a touch age toned to perimeters, otherwise clean and bright. With tape repair running the length of the tales of leaves 150-151. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
