Sobre este artículo

[New York]: Harper & Row, Publishers, 1963. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. Oblong 8vo. Unpaginated. Quarter grey cloth over pictorial boards printed on white paper, the boards' illustrations match those of the jacket. Colorful illustrated endpapers and pastedowns (the endpapers and pastedowns depict flowers and plants of many colors). Price of $3.50 on the front flap of the dust jacket. With the codes 40-80 and 1163 on the jacket's front flap, the jacket's front flap's bottom corner is clipped. The rear flap of the dust jacket mentions the book winning the 1964 Caldecott Award and mentions the book being chosen as the Best Illustrated Children's Book of 1963 by the New York Times. A collector has affixed a Caldecott Medal sticker to the jacket's front panel. Illustrated with full-page colorful drawings done by Sendak. Hanrahan A58. Our copy is a first edition, first printing book with a slightly later dust jacket. Our book has the correct statement and the correct Library of Congress catalog card number on its copyright page as per Hanrahan. Based on Hanrahan's entry, we believe our jacket is likely from March or April of 1964, as it accords with the jacket on her personal copy which she makes mention of in her bibliography. A pleasing copy of the hugely influential children's book, praised for its artwork and its ability to capture the full range of Max's (the main character's) emotions. The boards a touch bowed with a brief inscription on the half-title page; jacket with a few small chips and toning to its spine panel.

BEST. BOOK. EVER. I have given a copy to every child in my life (family & friends). The imagination given wings and the safety net of a parent's love. Beautifully naughty, captures the joy of childhood and possibilities.
