Written by popular British novelist, dramatist, poet and critic, Sir Thomas Henry Hall Caine, known as Hall Caine. 'The White Prophet' tells the story of Colonel Charles George Lord, a British officer who joins the crusade of Ishmael Ameer, a Muslim prophet who works against selfishness and sedition. This book was a response to difficulties in Egypt regarding British officers falsely accusing and then shooting locals. 'The White Prophet' is Caine's only work to not be reprinted, largely due to its sympathies with Egyptian nationalism. With three illustrations and a frontispiece to each volume. Collated, complete.
