A fine example of a late 19th-century dissected plate illustrating human anatomy, accompanied by a brief treatise on by German zoologist and comparative anatomist Eduard Oscar Schmidt (1823-1886). The text was translated by British nature writer William Samuel Furneaux (1855-1940).
