Sobre este artículo
Nursery rhymes and carols are part of folk art, and a vital link to a past era. Sometimes charming and often nonsensical, many of the them were too outspoken and were thus censored into childishness. For example, traditional carols which betrayed their pagan origins were converted into useful vehicles for the medieval Christian church. Iles examines the mysteries of such rhymes and throws a fascinating light on our social, sexual and religious history.
A really nice copy. All pages intact, bright and unmarked with no markings, fading or foxing, possibly unread. Some darkening on FEP perhaps due to old tape or similar. DJ is in a very good state. Unclipped, some sun fading on spine. Cloth boards intact and spine tight. All now protected in professional clear book wrapper. 256 pp with numerous illustrations
