Lacking the maps that were inserted at rear. Owner's name ffep (Ray Meinert, Co. C 39 Inf.), no other marks in book. Some foxing to preliminaries. Both front and rear hinges cracked but holding (weakly). Covers show some edge wear. A very nice reading copy.

Pamphlet. 32p., staplebound pamphlet, very good but for penciled note inside front cover stating that the original owner had received it from the Institute of Arab American Affairs. Argues that a Jewish homeland should not be established in Palestine, because of tensions with the Arab communities of the region. States that Polish refugees, for example, had been settled in Kenya and Mexico. The March 15, 1946 issue of The Jewish Post reported that "A heated discussion on Palestine took place this week in New York at a luncheon of the Overseas Press Club. . . . The discussion was provoked by a pro-Arab book, "Why Palestine?" by Henry Noble Hall, a British correspondent. . . . Hall was roundly criticized by all who participated in the discussion. . . . Which goes to show that American public opinion is not inclined to swallow pro-Arab propaganda as easily as British diplomats think.
