Sobre este artículo

Beloit, Wisconsin: Beloit College Press , 2002. Former owner's inscription and a date in ink on the ffep, overall a very crisp and clean first edition, almost new and unread condition, gift quality! Extremely rare and hard-to-find! 108 very clean unmarked and uncreased historical pages nicely enhanced by black and white photographs! Very scarce and out-of-print! "The writers represented here have all been Lois Wilson Mackey'45 Distinguished Professors at Beloit College. Over the past decade or so this program has consisted of writers, each of them distinguished and all of them winners of important prizes, including the Pulitzer and the National Book Award. The Mackey series of visiting writers began in 1989 and continues to this day. Mackey writers teach an advanced course in writing and give a public reading of their work. These writers ---- from RAymond Carver to Patricia Hampl ---- are the first fourteen Lois Mackey writers. Their position as such was made possible by Willard C. Mackey, Jr.'47 in memory of his literarture-loving wife, whom he dated on the day Parl Harbor was bombed. They were both in their first term at Beloit. Bill Mackey survived the battles of Okinawa, married Lois and became an advertising executive. Like the Mackey writers and like Einstein, he believes that more important than knowledge is imagination, and in the spirit endowed the Mackey program....." ---- from the Introduction: Handing Out a Life-Line.. First Edition. Trade Paperback. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
