Holiday House, 1950. First edition. Hard cover. Very Good/Very Good. Signed by Author. A trapper and his dog travel into the Caribou Mountains to rescue a naturalist and a pilot whose plane has been downed in the rugged wilderness of northern Canada". The book has some light rubbing to bottom edge. The dustjacket has a small piece missing to top of spine, with some light chipping and edgewear. Inscribed "With sincerest wishes Jim Kjelgaard", which is written under the dedication blurb (For Roberta Forsyth). Forsyth was the author's boyhood teacher, librarian, and friend. This is not an x-library copy; scarce thus. Signed copies rarely offered.
