Inscribed by the author in the month of publication on the front endpaper "Herbert Parsons / from his friend / C. Sheldon / September 26, 1912." Parsons (1869-1925) was Sheldon's classmate at Yale (they both graduated in 1890) and served three terms as a congressman from New York, 1905-1911. Phillips, p. 342. Heller 358: "The islands included Vancouver, Montague, Queen Charlotte, and Admiralty." Very good. Original decorated gilt-stamped green cloth, t.e.g. (#4788).
