This is TC's Aunt Lucille Faulk Ingram's own copy with a Random House " Compliments of " printed card taped to the front pastedown on which is written in a presumed secretarial hand in blue ink: " .the author, who wishes you a Merry Christmas". On the front fly, aunt Lucille Ingram has neatly inscribed in red ink: "Given to Lucille Ingram by Truman Capote". She has also signed the back endpapers twice. Near fine in a very good dustwrapper with some old tap e remains visible. [old tape removed]. A very special copy of one of Capote's highlights. Of All of the cousins Truman lived with as a child, Lucille Faulk Ingram & her daughter were his closest kin. As a fledgling writer looking for solitude, it was in the comfort of Lucille Ingram's home that Truman began to write his first novel, Other Voices, Other Rooms.

Published by Methuen, London; 1924-1928. This is a stunning complete set of Winnie the Pooh First editions *including rare First printing of When We Were Very Young*
When We Were Very Young:-Published by Methuen, London; 1924. This lovely first edition, first printing is in Near Fine condition. It is tightly bound in original blue boards, with gold gilt detailing to the front and rear, and lettering to the spine. There is some mild bumping to the corners and spine ends and some rubbing to the edges with slight discolouration. Apart from these small points, it is in very smart condition, the binding is sound and the boards free from marks and damage. Inside, there is some slight bubbling to part of the pastedown inside the front board and some very minor toning as to be expected but otherwise the pages are damage free and in lovely bright condition. This is the first issue, without ix to the contents page. Provenance: there is a gift inscription dated 1924. The dust jacket is in Very good condition, there is some mild chipping to the edges and top of the spine and a tear running approximately an inch up from the front bottom edge of the spine and then across the spine, but there is no loss to the jacket (please see photos). There is the odd mark, the main one being a stain across the bottom of the front panel and rubbing to the rear, but the jacket remains very smart and attractive nonetheless.
Winnie the Pooh:-Published by Methuen, London; 1926. This is an excellent copy of this rare first edition. It is in Fine condition, tightly bound in original green boards, with gold gilt detailing to the front and lettering to the spine. There is just the smallest degree of bumping to the spine ends and corners, but apart from this the boards are exceptionally clean and free from damage. Inside, there is a small tear to the middle of the bottom edge of the front free endpaper, about 1.5 centimetres in length. There is just the slightest degree of toning and age spotting to the extreme edges of the pages, but otherwise they are clean and bright with no blemishes or marks to speak of. In all this is a rare Fine copy of this book! The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, it is the rare first issue with 117th thousand to top of rear flap. There is some chipping to the spine ends and corners, and a closed tear to the top corner of the rear panel. But there is hardly any darkening to the spine, and barely any marking to the jacket and, in all, this is a very nice example of this first edition and jacket indeed.
Now We Are Six:- Published by Methuen, London; 1927. This lovely book is in Near Fine condition. It is tightly bound in original red boards, with gold gilt detailing to the front and lettering to the spine. There is some bumping to the corners and spine ends, with some minor loss to the base of the spine, but apart from this and a slight darkening to the spine, the boards are in very nice condition. Internally, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or damage. There is only the slightest hint of toning or age spottingto the page edges and the book is in very smart condition. Provenance: There is a neat gift inscription to the top right corner of the title page dated 1927. The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, with just some minor chipping to the edges and corners, particularly the spine ends. There are just a couple of slight marks, and a darkening to the spine from sitting on a bookshelf, but the panels retain some of their lovely original colour and the jacket is bright and smart. A lovely copy of this first edition!
The House at Pooh Corner:-Published by Methuen, London; 1928. This smart first edition copy of the popular final book of the winnie the pooh series is in Near Fine condition. There is some slight bumping to the spine ends and board corneres, a little fading to the salmon pink of the original boards, and a few tiny black marks to the rear board, but apart from this the binding is tight and the boards free from blemishes or damage, with the lovely gold gilt detailing to the front and lettering to the spine. There is a gift inscription to the front free endpaper, and the odd age spot and very slight toning, particularly to the free endpapers, but apart from this the pages are remarkably clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear. The dustjacket is in Near Fine condition. There is some chipping to the spine ends and the edges, and a darkening to the edges and spine, but apart from this the jacket retains it's lovely salmon pink colour. Apart from some small rubbing marks to the panels, there are no other real issues to speak of and it is a very smart jacket for this lovely book.
Overall, this set is a rare find for collectors of Winnie the Pooh, including the hard to come by first issue of When We Were Very Young. All the books and jackets are in lovely condition, which in itself is very surprising for children's first editions. The jackets are now all protected by plastic and the books stored out of sunlight to ensure they remain such exceptional condition. Indeed, these books would be an excellent investment for anyone looking for books to add to their collection or for those who have become disenchanted with low-gain savings accounts!

New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Cohen explores themes that would permeate his later work, from shame and unworthiness to sexual desire in all its sacred and profane dimensions to longing, whether for love, family, freedom, or transcendence. Descripción:
New York: Random House, 1959. Book. Illus. by Sam March (dust jacket design). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. Humes's second novel, following 'The Underground City,' both of which led to his being considered by Esquire magazine as having the same promise as two obscure guys named Updike and Styron (whoever they are). Anyway, he met a guy named Leary who introduced him to a little substance known as LSD, and after seriously indulging his fondness for the hallucinogen he became a trifle paranoid and a bit delusional, which pretty much ended his writing career. Humes was co-founder (with Peter Matthiessen and George Plimpton) of The Paris Review. He died of prostate cancer in 1992. Black cloth w/gilt lettering, 184 pages. Mildly cocked, light general wear, in price-clipped dust jacket w/light rubbing, light edgewear, creases to fore-edges of both flaps..
