Sobre este artículo

New York Chicago Toronto: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1900. First edition. Page size: 7-1/8 x 4-3/4 inches; 160pp. illustrated with sepia half-tones after photographs by William Buckingham Dyer. Bound: red cloth stamped in gold gilt and white with title and author within multi-ruled borders, flower in each corner, profile of woman in center of gilt floral cartouche, title and author repeated on spine with floral motif, tan dust jacket repeating binding stamping in dark brown, teg, book and jacket both fine except for rough opening of first 8 pages (apparently all that were read). A handsome trade binding by J. P. Archibald. Margaret Sangster (1838-1912) was a magazine editor and author who supplied verse, articles and stories to a number of publications including Harper's Bazaar. She regarded herself as a "Christian leader of women" and was interested in the welfare of girls. Originally opposed to woman suffrage, she changed her views about 1910 because she saw "the helplessness of woman as a competitor in the labor market when she has no voice in the making of the laws affecting her." NAW III, pp. 235. Feminist Guide, p. 946.
