There are still older conflicts to be faced however, symbolised by the presence of the Melanudrigall Wood, a last remnant of the ancient Caledonian forest. Here there is black magic to be uncovered, but also the more positive pre-Christian intimations of nature worship.

Sinopsis
Witch Wood is a 1927 novel by John Buchan. It deals with the witchcraft scares of several hundred years ago. It was adapted into a 4-part BBC television series in 1964. It is thought that the inspiration for the location of the novel derived from Kilbucho, an area near Buchan's former home, and that he drew the witchcraft practices depicted within from Margaret Murray.
