Decorative brown publisher's cloth binding, worn and with a split running up the outer hinge between front board and spine. Tape repair to gutter of front blue-coated endpapers; bookplate of 'William Bacon Crittenden', 1884; later ownership inscription of 'Howard Curtis 1954'. The sewing has failed internally leaving many gatherings loose. Browned paper stock. Acquired as part of a library of books relating to archery compiled in the old West Riding of Yorkshire.
