Some foxing/browning to the top end fore-edges; base of spine bumped and bruised with little bit of surface loss. About VG. The dustwrapper (priced £6.50 net to the inside flap) is also about VG and is faded to the spine with a small chip at the bottom left hand corner of the spine with a tiny nick in the dustwrapper. Winner of the Whitbread Award for Children's Novel in 1983. The basis for the 2020 dark fantasy comedy horror film "Roald Dahl The Witches" co-produced and directed by Robert Zemeckis, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kenya Barris and Guillermo del Toro starring Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, and Kristin Chenoweth. Sinopsis
Roald Dahl's, The Witches , tells the story of the "real" witches, their great hatred for kids, and their plot to destory all of the children of the world! This is a great tale for older kids, or one to read to younger children. It is eerie and strange in parts, poignant in others, and yet maintains an optimistic perspective from the hero; a young boy turned into a mouse by a witch who must plot to save the other children of the world. This book is on the American Library Association list of the 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 1990 to 1999.
