Sobre este artículo

Sydney: Allen & Unwin, 2022. Reprint ed.. Paperback octavo, very good condition, black & white photos centre spread, minimal edgewear. 310 pp. This is the story by Tom Gilling of the Australian war crimes trials that came after World War 2. One prosecution witness stood out: Warrant Officer Bill Sticpewich. During his three years in the infamous Sandakan POW Camp, Sticpewich had seen hundreds of fellow prisoners die of starvation, sickness and too much work. Of the 2434 prisoners, only six survived. Drawing on wartime records, original interviews and the memories of other survivors, this book is the compelling story of Australia's most notorious POW. Was he a collaborator?
