Publisher's chocolate brown boards are stamped with H&B. Ornate Gold gilt titling on spine still fairly bright. Loss and fragility to exterior spine. List of New Books dated December, 1860. States 1861 on the title page. In-text illustrations by John McLenan. Chocolate brown endpapers.. Miss Mulock correctly spelled. Foxing noted on ads pages. Harpers ads page lists The Woman In White as the sixth title. Former owner Alex McRae has signed and dated this book 10th January, 1861.
