Sobre este artículo
This book was prepared by Aleksandra Bogat (1898-?), the Cavalry Maiden and the head of intelligence of the 21st Cavalry Regiment in the 1st Cavalry Army (also known as "Budyonny's Cavalry Amy"). Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the author's later life, except that she wrote several feminist brochures and books.
For the first time, Russian women were allowed to participate in the war as soldiers not nurse only in 1917 during The Great War. The Provisional Government allowed the formation of separate women's battalions. During the Civil War, new authorities lifted old restrictions and allowed women join to army as soldiers. This book talks about this women's experience for the first time in Russia. For censorship reasons, stories about women's battalions during the Great War in Russian were published only at the end of the XXth century.
The book also includes the story about Paraskovia Gedymin, the Khakas (in the book – the Buryat), who become the first representative of the Khakass Autonomous Region under the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee (1930-1933).
Second edition.
Rare.
OCLC locates two copies of this edition: in the Harvard Library and the University of Chicago Library.
