Sobre este artículo
New York: Women's Martial Arts Union, 1972. The WMAU was co-founded by Susan Ribner (and Nadia Telsey?) in 1972 and eventually became the National Women's Martial Arts Federation (see Biographical Note in Susan Ribner Paper at Smith College). They organized the Women's Martial Arts and Self Defense Conference and were a clearing house for martial arts information and established branches in Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore and Ann Arbor. The group and its activities were occasionally featured in Black Belt Woman (Jan.-Feb. 1976), a magazine edited by long-time feminist Dana Densmore. Jo Freeman was a member between 1974-77.
