Black and white illustrations by Ezra Jack Keats throughout. Inscribed by Author on half title: "For/Binti Hoskins/who also loves dogs/Frances Carpenter." Good, double-page illustration on pages 56 and 57 and the header illustrations on pages 81 and 119 have been neatly colored in by previous owner, otherwise internally clean, age-darkening to spine and extremities, soiling and fraying to extremities, soiling to top edge of text block, in Good dust jacket with a few short tears and large chips missing to edges, overall soiling and age-toning.
