The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. The covers have some light ground-in dirt. The gilt lettering on the spine has rubbed. The text pages are clean and bright with occasional patches of foxing. Included are 9 full page, full color illustrations - this copy is missing the plate on page 12 (it looks like the plate was never included). "This book, which is the latest work of Sweden's greatest fiction writer, was published in Stockholm, December, 1906. It became immediately the most popular book of the year in Scandinavia."
