Clean decorated American trade binding (signed binding - BS - Frank Berkeley Smith). Green cloth boards with cover decorated in white and gold (gold fireplace andiron and grate, white smoke). Clean unchipped white lettering on cover; unchipped gold lettering and decoration in gold and white on spine; slight browning to spine. No fraying or wear. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with neatly penned previous owner name on front free endpaper. Illustrated in color by Alonzo Kimball, including frontispiece with clean tissue guard. 298 pages..
