Sobre este artículo
London: Chatto & Windus, 1973. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. 8" by 5". John Ward. A first edition of Richard Hughes' popular novel set in prohibition era America, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. The first edition of this work, in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Bookplate to the front free end paper. The Wooden Shepherdess is the sequel to The Fox in the Attic, and the second novel in Hughes' intended trilogy titled The Human Predicament. In this novel, the protagonist, Augustie, is in prohibition era America, seeing the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany. Written by Richard Hughes, who is best known for his novel A High Wind in Jamaica. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the top edge. Dust wrapper has a little wear and staining to the head of the spine, which is reinforced to the reverse of the wrap, and minimal wear to the joints, folds and spine. Some soiling to the rear of the wrap. However, colour is still bright to the front of the wrap. Fine
