Glasgow: Strickland Press, 1951. First Edition. Quarto. Staple-bound pamphlet; printed coated paper wrappers; 40pp; illus. Light external wear and creasing to wrappers; Very Good. Guy Aldred (1896-1963), a self-professed "non-sectarian anarchist," was a leading publisher of Communist-Anarchist materials and for many years the proprietor of the Strickland Press. "The Word Quarterly," of which this comprises the second issue, was an outgrowth of Aldred's long-running revolutionary periodical "Word." "The Word Quarterly" was envisioned (according to the editor's preface to the first issue) as "a quarterly special, of rare and intriguing information, plunging into the by-ways of history, tracing the story of the radical movement, and bringing to light many interesting records of activity that might be forgotten otherwise." It appears that only two issues were ever published. Extremely uncommon, with no physical holdings located in OCLC.
