Printed at the Camden Press, Dalzeil Brothers, London.* Binding and cover condition: Thick boards with bevelled edges. Brown red cloth, gilt title & decoration to spine with fully gilt decorated face and blind impressed decoration to back board. Corners slightly bumped & rubbed. Spine rubbed at head and tail, front hinge tender, may have been repaired. Some light marks. GOOD* Jacket condition: No dust wrapper, probably issued without.* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Chocolate glazed end papers, binder's ticket (Burn) to rear pastedown. Gift inscription to fep dated 1862. All edges gilt. Clean, crisp, and tight with only minor reading wear to text, slight marks to prelims. A few marks in two places where ferns have been pressed between the pages, otherwise no major faults. VG* Illustrations: Freely illustrated by John MacWhirter & John Pettie and a vignette by John Everett Millais. Fifty b/w prints throughout.* Pages: 92 pp. text. x pp. book advertisements at rear dated Dec 1862.* A GOOD copy. No dust jacket.*
