Wells conceived of these as, respectively, "a survey of history, of the science of life, and of existing conditions." He intended the completed trilogy as an unprecedented "picture of all mankind to-day" in all its manifold activities". He hoped the volumes would contribute to establishing a progressive world government that he had been promoting since the mid-1920s. Not available for priority/expedited shipping.
