Sobre este artículo

New York: Horizon Press, 1970. Hardcover. 8vo. Brown cloth with gilt spine lettering, dust jacket. 249pp. Near fine/very good. Faintest of jacket edgewear only. Tight and handsome first edition. Alfred Kazin introduces this interesting book-centered critique. Appropriate autograph addition: Tipped in facing the title page as a kind of frontispiece is a 5" X 8" manila envelope front signed by Mitgang in black fineline at upper left above the "New York Times" printed name/address and addressed by him to old friend Arnold Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar). Undated, but postal labels dated 16 January 1980.
