Clean hardback tightly bound in red padded leather with gilt titles & bordering, rounded corners, all edges gilt, gilt dentelles, floral decorated endpapers, red silk bookmark sewn in, worn at corners and there is a small snag at the head of the spine, some colour loss at backstrip, black & gilt leather nameplate dated November 18th 1895 on front endpaper, no other marks or inscriptions. viii + 808 pages, tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece, index. Has two title pages, one with Peacock, Mansfield & Britton and the other with Macmillan .
