A new edition of the collected poetical works of Edward Young, in uniform full calf bindings. Complete in four volumes. Edward Young was an English poet. His most famous work was Night-Thoughts, containing some philosophical pieces written in blank verse which influenced some foremost poets of the century including Goethe and Edmund Burke, featuring charming illustrations by William Blake. The present set complete in four volumes is a new edition of the poetical works of Young, revised and edited by himself. Featuring engraved frontispieces to vols. I-III.ESTC Reference T128580In uniform full calf bindings with label in red to the spine. With half titles. In the uniform original publisher's full calf bindings with red label to the spine. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, slight rubbing to the spine and joints. Family crest bookplate to the front pastedown. Previous ownership inscription to the title page, dated 1767. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting scattered to the odd leaf, although the pages are generally very clean throughout. Featuring an engraved frontispiece by L. P. Boitard Inc. to vol. I-III. Very Good
