Sobre este artículo
London: William Pickering, 1826. Small Octavo. First collected edition. In three volumes, Half-titles, Vol. I: 284 [xxiii contains the life of Christopher Marlowe) Vol. II: p.201[5]-290-401 and Vol. III: 584pp. [ Vol. I: p. 199 misnumbered 197, p. 238 misnumbered 239, p. 239 misnumbered 238. Vol. II: p. 393 misnumbered 339. Vol. III: p. 572 misnumbered 72. Vol: II collated as in all known copies]. The often lacking errata is after the title page of volume II. Alexander Dyce was preeminent among Marlowe scholars. He began his London career in association with William Pickering, a publisher distinguished by his standards of book design. Scholars do not agree that George Robinson assisted as editor, but all agree in the clarity and beauty of its typography." All volumes bound in a contemporary polished calf, slightly raised bands with compartments gilt, double black Morocco spine labels gilt (one label replaced), decorative gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled (not matching endpapers), bindings are quite rubbed with some fading to spines and edges but internally fresh and bright except for the endsheets which has just a bit of foxing. From the library of John Ashhurst with his armorial bookplate.
