Sobre este artículo
London: Chapman and Hall Ltd,, 1906. An appealing library set in the publisher's deluxe binding. This edition features illustrations from a wide range of artists commissioned by Chapman and Hall for their popular 1870s Household Edition. The prolific Brothers Dalziel produced the wood engravings after drawings from 11 different illustrators, including Phiz and Luke Fildes. Fildes worked on Edwin Drood in 1870, making him the last artist to collaborate with Dickens himself. 21 volumes, octavo (195 x 133 mm). Publisher's deluxe half calf, spine lettered and decorated with floral design in gilt, marbled boards and endpapers, top edges gilt. Frontispiece to each volume, numerous illustrations. Later 20th-century pencil ownership inscription to first blank of Martin Chuzzlewit. Spines uniformly faded, gilt bright, occasional spots of skinning, light rubbing to edges, contents foxed. A very good set.
